2000 GUINEAS 1898

The 90th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 27th April 1898 over the Rowley Mile, was Disraeli (100/8), a bay colt by Galopin out of Lady Yardley, owned by Mr Wallace Johnstone. The winner won by 1 1/2 lengths in 1 minute 54.8 secs, with a neck back to the third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £4,970 (Equivalent to £596,400 in 2017)
